PhD thesis
title: "Navegar é Preciso"...: Interdisciplinaridade e Interatividade na Arte da Cena Contemporânea
Abstract: This thesis deals with interactive and interdisciplinary processes and products on contemporary art, emphasizing the relationship between the artist, the art work and the public. In addition to that, it aims, based on hermeneutic philosophy, post- structuralist studies and critical theory, to arise some questions related to the nature of art and human perception. Departing from a comparative analysis between interactivity and interdisciplinarity on the art’s movement from the XX’s century avand-garde and the contemporary art’s scene, it presents a historical retrospective of aesthetic theories, proceeding a philosophical analysis of the concept of meaning on art. For that, the observation of works from some contemporary artists on the field of art and technology as well as some of the works in video from the author of this thesis are related. At last but not least, it discusses the impact of digitalization and globalization on the contemporary art production and the role of the traditional cultural institutions nowadays, presenting the creative practice of the Processpatching method of Art, Research and Development on the interdisciplinar laboratory Cultuur Lokaal, realized in Gouda, Nederlands, in 2008.
