What I Do
I make artworks (videoart , performance, dance and installation) by myself, in collaboration with other artists or as team member on big art productions. Many times I cast teams for those type of art projects and assist /supervise the production process.
I write about art for academic journals, give lectures, translate academic papers, supervise art students and give consultancy to art projects.
Besides, I direct the Slash ArtTech Lab, a non-profit organization busy with digital art, therefore I do
also promote art events, motivating other artists to present their work and inviting the public to enjoy art .
How I Work
I work wiith ideas and materials, both mine and of others. To materialize an idea into an art creation it is crucial to think in advance of all aspects of the production, so I do go through an intense research and ananilys of the possible ways to develop it. After planing troughfully, a second phase comes, in which it is important to be open to go with the flow of the process, so I truly interact with the materials of the project.
I work creatively, with pleasure and enthusiasm.
Who I am
I was born and grew up in Brazil, daughter of an italian family, a big, crazy one like we see in movies, but then in a hot country as Brazil. Maybe because of this background I am a very passionated person, and I love to love everything I do...so, when it comes to work, I like to work with groups, with interesting people, I like to have in my work environment warm relationships, open to discuss, to share ideas, to go fro and back until we find the best solution, the best way, the best quality.
My first education was dance, both as a professional dancer and choreographer as a dance teatcher. Later, I ingressed in the academic world, I am a PhD in Performing Arts and my speciality is Dance and Technology,
I live between Holland and Brazil for many years.
What I Believe
I believe on the power of creativity and that we need to express ourselves creativily. I think art is a fantastic way to create space for people to share ideas and to inspire others. Art is always about sharing a dream universe, in which people can always invent other possible realities, and this is so powerful because through these encounters that art promotes, new constellations of thoughts and emotions moves us to other becomings. Art keep us moving, changing, acting. I believe Art is a form of knowledge which brings us forward to the creation of better worlds.
